It was a proper cat-fight when Newport faced off against Beechwood on Tuesday. The Newport Wildcats took down the Beechwood Tigers 66-50. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Tigers back in January, they had to take a 59-57 defeat.

Yamil Rondon was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-13 to rack up 26 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of James Turner, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Beechwood, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 16-10.

Newport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beechwood, they will head out to square off against Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beechwood is facing Highlands at the right time seeing as Highlands is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
