Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Takes a Loss

NCSSM: Durham suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by the Wake Prep Academy Guardians 45-17. The Unicorns just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Leading Wake Prep Academy to victory were Journey Johnson and Zanasha Bolden. Johnson went 7 of 14 to rack up 15 points and five steals, while Bolden posted nine points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bolden a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Beanie Ballman, who scored nine points and three steals.

NCSSM: Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Wake Prep Academy, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Looking ahead, NCSSM: Durham is taking a road trip to face off against Raleigh Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will welcome Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
