Basketball Game Preview: Coahoma County Red Panthers vs. Douglass Red Devils

The Coahoma County Red Panthers will face off against the Douglass Red Devils at 7:25 p.m. on Friday. Coahoma County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Coahoma County didn't have too much trouble with Douglass as they won 54-39. Given the Red Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 28th in Mississippi, while the Red Devils are ranked 203rd in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coahoma County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tarrius Weeks led the charge by putting up ten points along with eight boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hearns, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and four blocks.

Coahoma County's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Douglass, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
