Recap: Massaponax Panthers vs. Colonial Forge Eagles
The Massaponax Panthers stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Colonial Forge with a sharp 61-40 victory. The win was nothing new for Massaponax as they're now sitting on six straight.
Takiera Ramey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven steals and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Massaponax's points. Kyra Price was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Massaponax pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Colonial Forge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massaponax and Brooke Point will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brooke Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Massaponax is ranked 44th). Colonial Forge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stafford at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Stafford has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
