Basketball Recap: Ohio School for the Deaf's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Cornerstone Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ohio School for the Deaf, they should've done a better job of containing Marilyn Alcocer. The Ohio School for the Deaf Spartans came out on top against the Cornerstone Academy Wolves by a score of 45-37 on Monday thanks in part to Alcocer, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Ohio School for the Deaf and bumps their season record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.5 points over those games. As for Cornerstone Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Ohio School for the Deaf will take on Pennsylvania School For The Deaf in a tournament on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Pennsylvania School For The Deaf: 20.2, Ohio School for the Deaf: 28.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Cornerstone Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
