Baseball Recap: Phoebus Takes a Loss

Phoebus fell victim to Menchville and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 17-0 to the Monarchs. The Phantoms just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Phoebus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Gillies, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Phoebus' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Menchville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoebus will square off against Norcom at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Phantoms are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Menchville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Denbigh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
