Baseball Recap: Castle Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Castle had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 14-5 to make it four. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Evansville Central Bears. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

As for Evansville Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Evansville Central's part, Xavier Monroe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Evansville Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Dejarnette, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Coming up, Castle will face off against Jeffersonville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Evansville Central, they will host Evansville Reitz at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
