Baseball Recap: Wasatch Comes Up Short

Wasatch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Orem Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wasps of the 8-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bridger Shaw made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Eddie Bluth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Wasatch's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Orem, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

While Wasatch had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
