Volleyball Recap: Boone Grove Starts off Right with Win over Kankakee Valley

Boone Grove had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kankakee Valley Kougars on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Boone Grove had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 15-3.

Brooklyn Gluth paced Boone Grove's offense, picking up seven kills. Gluth got some help from Mya Wargo and her 23 assists. Callie Garza controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Boone Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against East Chicago Central on the 16th. As for Kankakee Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Merrillville on the 16th.
