The Maryvale Flyers will face off against the Sweet Home Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maryvale will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Maryvale beat Pioneer 7-2. That's two games straight that the Flyers have won by exactly five runs.

Dominic Daly made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Maryvale got a massive performance out of Jacob Kuciel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Isaiah Hill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Maryvale lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sweet Home ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Grand Island. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Aiden Mroz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tom Caruana, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Sweet Home's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Maryvale, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Maryvale skirted past Sweet Home 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Do the Flyers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
