Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Comes Up Short

Sheridan had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it six. They came up short against the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls, falling 3-0. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ocelotls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART had a senior duo take command as April Vences had nine aces and three assists and Sofia Ordonez had six aces and six assists. Vences has been hot, having posted four or more aces the last five times she's played. Alessandra Irazoque was another key player, getting four aces.

Coming up, Sheridan will take on Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kennedy at 6:00 p.m.
