Softball Recap: Jones Takes a Loss

Jones extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They came up short against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers, falling 24-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fightin' Tigers of the 17-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Michaela Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Shia Harris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Lake Buena Vista, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Lake Buena Vista's side, Aiza Khan was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Khan has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayana Jovet, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will head out on the road to square off against Cypress Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vipers surely won't give up without a fight.
