 Neuse Charter is 0-10 against Rosewood since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Neuse Charter Cougars will head out on the road to  square off against  the Rosewood Eagles at 6:00  p.m. Neuse Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game  this season.
 Last Tuesday, Neuse Charter came up short against Hobbton  and fell  8-4. Neuse Charter has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Alex Candes put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Candes was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Candes wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Connor Phillips, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.  Eli Edwards was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Rosewood entered their tilt with Hobbton with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Wildcats onto the board and left with  a   4-0  victory  on Wednesday.
  Ed Gardner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just zero earned runs on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
 Neuse Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rosewood, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with that  win, which was their 21st straight  at home dating back to last season.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Neuse Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 2.9  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rosewood struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4.2. The only question left is which team can snag more.
