Softball Recap: Limestone Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Limestone's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunlap Eagles on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

LIZ GRUBE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Limestone now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Dunlap, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Limestone will square off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunlap, they will take on Lincoln at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Railsplitters at the right time seeing as the Railsplitters are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
