Basketball Recap: Jefferson Snaps 15-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Oak Cliff, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They managed a 49-44 win over the Sunset Bison. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Bison back in December of 2024, they had to take a 66-60 loss.

Sunset lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jason Watson, who posted six points in addition to six assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Dayvion Mitchell, who put up nine points.

Jefferson's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14. As for Sunset, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Jefferson will head out to take on Molina at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunset, they will be playing at home against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
