Preview: West Johnston Wildcats vs. C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons
West Johnston is 2-7 against C.B. Aycock since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Johnston Wildcats will be playing at home against the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in West Johnston's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Last Friday, West Johnston didn't have too much trouble with Smithfield-Selma at home as they won 65-46. That looming 65-46 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Johnston yet this season.
Caden Horay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five assists and three steals. William Moore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, C.B. Aycock can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 75-48 win over South Johnston. The victory was just what C.B. Aycock needed coming off of a 85-62 defeat in their prior match.
West Johnston's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for C.B. Aycock, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
West Johnston didn't have too much breathing room in their game against C.B. Aycock in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 64-60 victory. Does West Johnston have another victory up their sleeve, or will C.B. Aycock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
