Baseball Game Preview: Spring Creek Gators vs. Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals

The Spring Creek Gators will square off against the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Spring Creek fell victim to Princeton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-0. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Spring Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Kornegay, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Wayne Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to Community Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Generals have lost by exactly six runs.

TRENT SHEPPARD was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. KENNETH LARA was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Wayne Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Spring Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spring Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wayne Preparatory Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
