Softball Game Preview: Cumberland Gap Panthers vs. Washburn Pirates

The Cumberland Gap Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Washburn Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cumberland Gap comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Cumberland Gap lost 9-1 to Claiborne on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Washburn had to endure a 15-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Northview Academy 18-10 on Monday.

Cumberland Gap's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Washburn, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cumberland Gap took their victory against Washburn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4. Will Cumberland Gap repeat their success, or does Washburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
