Baseball Recap: Shepherd Pirates vs. Livingston Lions
Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Livingston Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Tuesday.

Hagen Adams was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cyrus Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Steven Williams also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Livingston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12-2.
Shepherd will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hamshire-Fannett at 7:00 p.m. on April 11. As for Livingston, they will take on Central Heights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
