Basketball Game Preview: Southern Christian Patriots vs. East Central HomeSchool Patriots

After both having extra time off, the Southern Christian Patriots and the East Central HomeSchool Patriots will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Christian will be strutting in after a victory while East Central HomeSchool will be coming in after a loss.

Southern Christian will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 45-point drubbing they dealt Varsity Opponent two weeks ago. Southern Christian took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-23 win over Varsity Opponent.

Meanwhile, East Central HomeSchool might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Bessemer Academy an easy 67-43 victory. The Patriots have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Southern Christian will need focus on slowing down Josiah Dumas, one of several East Central HomeSchool players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Dumas is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Greyson Boyd, who put up 16 points and six rebounds.

Southern Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for East Central HomeSchool, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.
