Softball Recap: Economedes Comes Up Short

Economedes's tournament run continued when they took on Nixon on Saturday. The Economedes Jaguars lost 14-2 to the Nixon Mustangs. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Economedes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evelyn Cano, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Cano hit this season.

Even though they lost, Economedes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Economedes' loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Nixon, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Economedes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 defeat against Edinburg North on the 7th. As for Nixon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against Mission Veterans Memorial on the 4th.
