Basketball Preview: Bowen Boilermakers vs. Corliss Trojans
Bowen is a perfect 5-0 against Corliss since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Boilermakers will take on the Trojans in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bowen has three straight wins, Corliss has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Friday, Bowen made easy work of Air Force Academy and carried off a 27-7 victory. The Boilermakers pushed the score to 25-4 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Bowen's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dyamond Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards, and Tatianna Gibson, who shot 40% from the field on her way to 9 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The Boilermakers are undefeated when Gibson posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Mya Adams, who posted three points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Bowen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Corliss' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bowen, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Bowen strolled past Corliss in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 34-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Boilermakers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
