Baseball Game Preview: Buchtel Griffins vs. Firestone Falcons

For the second straight game, Buchtel will face off against Firestone. The Griffins will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buchtel is looking for their season's first win.

Monday just wasn't the day for Buchtel's offense. They lost 10-0 to Firestone on Monday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Griffins were not able to get on the board.

For Firestone's part, Noah Liming and Malcolm Bufford did most of the damage at the plate: Liming went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Bufford went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Bufford has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Haneef Abdul-Mujib, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Firestone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Firestone has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Buchtel, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
