Recap: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Lincoln Charter Eagles
The Christ the King Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Lincoln Charter 65-60. While losing is never fun, Christ the King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Lincoln Charter is ranked 113th).
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Ryan, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 19 rebounds, and nine blocks. That's the first time this season that Ryan posted two or more blocks. Marco Tampoya was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Christ the King bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lincoln Charter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Christ the King will be playing at home against Langtree Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
