Basketball Recap: Southeast of Saline Piles Up the Points Against Smoky Valley

Southeast of Saline won against Republic County last Friday with 69 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Southeast of Saline Trojans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Smoky Valley Vikings 69-23. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Leading Southeast of Saline to victory were Gannon Jacobson and Owen Bailey. Jacobson went 8 for 11 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Bailey went 6 for 14 on his way to 18 points. The contest was Jacobson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Cooper Carlin was another key player, putting up five points.

The win made it two in a row for Southeast of Saline and bumps their season record up to 2-4. As for Smoky Valley, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Southeast of Saline will face off against Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Smoky Valley, they will challenge Hoisington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
