League recap: Episcopal extends winning streak with victory over Istrouma

2A District 6 recap October 1, 2013

Episcopal added to the longest winning streak in 2A District 6 this week by beating Istrouma, 56-12. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Northeast was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in the league. The Vikings beat East Iberville 34-0 earlier in the week.

Redemptorist's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Russell Gage has thrown for 278 yards this season, while Jawaun Sanders has 11 catches for 181 yards. Gage also leads the league in rushing with 486 yards.

An important game coming up in 2A District 6 this week will be when Northeast takes on Dunham. David Masterson's team is currently in fourth, while the Tigers are in second.

Episcopal led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Indians.
