Basketball Game Preview: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. Apollo Hawks

Two dominant centers in Norah Moo and Meekah Nunez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Pinnacle Pioneers will host the Apollo Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pinnacle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Pinnacle took their game with ease, bagging a 75-23 win over Dobson. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Moo, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Carnal, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and five steals.

Pinnacle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Apollo challenged O'Connor on Tuesday. Apollo took a blow against O'Connor, falling 72-19. The game marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pinnacle's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Apollo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
