Softball Preview: Ravenscroft Ravens vs. St. Mary's Saints

The Ravenscroft Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the St. Mary's Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Ravenscroft scored the most runs they've had all season to find success last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Durham Academy with a sharp 26-11 win. The victory was just what Ravenscroft needed coming off of an 18-8 defeat in their prior matchup.

Cole MacKinnon was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Anna Sonntag, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against GRACE Christian by a score of 13-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for St. Mary's.

Addie Bowen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bowen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
