Meanwhile, Midview got the win against Olmsted Falls on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Middies, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Solon, Midview also got a great game from a two-way player: Savannah Holcomb. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Holcomb has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liv Keenan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Nina Ballachino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Midview's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Solon, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-12.
