Baseball Recap: Lincoln-Way West Beats Thornton Fractional South for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Lincoln-Way West put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Wolves, too.

Michael Pettit made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Pettit was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Peyton Globke was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Conor Essenburg was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln-Way West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
