Jasper (Mo.) received a huge boost from its defense against
Lockwood (Mo.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating
Lockwood (Mo.), 41-14.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Payton Smith in the first quarter, the Eagles led 20-6 at the half.
Jasper grew its lead to 19 points entering the fourth quarter. JHS scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
A 8-point fourth quarter was enough to cement the win for the Eagles, as they pushed the final margin of victory to 27.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Tigers took, 33-0.
With the win Jasper extended its winning streak to four games.
In a Spring River Valley game next week Jasper (4-0) takes on Sarcoxie, and Lockwood (2-2) will go up against Miller also in a Spring River Valley game.
