The Greenfield-Central Cougars will challenge the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Greenfield-Central sitting on three straight wins and Franklin Community on four.
Greenfield-Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Columbus East on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Olympians. That looming 8-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Addie Heacox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kristen Wineinger, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Charlotte Riehle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Franklin Community made easy work of Perry Meridian on Wednesday and carried off a 14-1 victory. The Grizzly Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Annabelle Richter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Richter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Franklin Community got a massive performance out of Aubrey Leugers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Adeline Blackwell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs.
Franklin Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Franklin Community's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Greenfield-Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Greenfield-Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Franklin Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
