Basketball Recap: Steeleville Comes Up Short

Steeleville was the 62-49 winner over Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton when they last played one another back in February of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors received a blow on Monday as they fell 47-33 to Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Essence Haynes, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton. That makes it four consecutive games in which Haynes has scored at least a third of Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isla Kirkpatrick, who posted 11 points.

Steeleville's loss dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11.

Steeleville has already played their next contest, a 60-33 defeat against Cobden on the 10th. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-41 loss against Sparta on the 10th.
