Soccer Recap: Manteo Takes a Loss

If Manteo was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Currituck County last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins fell just short of the First Flight Nighthawks by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for Manteo in their meetings with First Flight: they've now lost three in a row.

Manteo's goal came courtesy of Alex Amezquita-Reyes, who's now up to seven this season.

Manteo's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for First Flight, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1-1.

While Manteo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
