Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Douglas County Huskies
The Evergreen Cougars lost against the Douglas County Huskies back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Evergreen was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to Douglas County.
When it comes to explaining why Evergreen lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addison McEvers. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with five steals. Taylor Bailey was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five assists and two steals.
Douglas County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sofia Baldessari led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Baldessari has scored at least a third of Douglas County's points.
