Softball Recap: Saucon Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Saucon Valley dropped their record down to 6-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Salisbury Township Falcons by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Savannah Schlegel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

As for Salisbury Township, the win got them back to even at 9-9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 24th.

On Salisbury Township's side, Tessa Kemmerer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Kemmerer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Coincidentally, Saucon Valley and Salisbury Township will both be playing Southern Lehigh the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Spartans at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
