Volleyball Recap: Brookhaven Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Brookhaven took on Lawrence County on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Brookhaven was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lawrence County work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-23, 25-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kylee McLeod, who had 30 digs. McLeod is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adaya Ball, who had five digs and four aces.

Brookhaven's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lawrence County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Brookhaven has already played their next contest (against Laurel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lawrence County, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against McComb on the 11th.
