Basketball Recap: Wilkes Central Takes a Loss

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-28 defeat at the hands of the Bandys Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 71-27 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Bandys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Bell led the charge by dropping a double-double with 17 points and 11 steals. Those 11 steals gave Bell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shania Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine steals.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Wilkes Central will face off against West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bandys, they will venture away from home to square off against South Iredell at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
