New Brighton dropped their record down to 6-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 14-7 to the Shenango Wildcats. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Jaxson Zahn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Shenango, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On Shenango's side, Joey Campoli was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sam Patton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

New Brighton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Freedom Area on the 17th. As for Shenango, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 defeat against Neshannock on the 22nd.
