South Kitsap has gone a perfect 4-0 against Bethel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
South Kitsap is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Olympia, falling 3-0. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
South Kitsap was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-23.
Despite the defeat, South Kitsap saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natania Bauro had nine digs and two aces. Carly Lyons also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, Bethel didn't have quite enough to beat Rogers on Wednesday and fell 3-2. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-20 in the first set.
Bethel took Rogers into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-18, 15-12.
Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Kitsap, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: South Kitsap has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Bethel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
South Kitsap took their win against Bethel in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
