Volleyball Game Preview: Dan River Wildcats vs. Chatham Cavaliers + How To Watch

The Dan River Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Chatham Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dan River lost 3-0 to Gretna on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Gretna scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Chatham had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Chatham's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-11.

Dan River better focus on containing Avery Norton and Peyton Owen as the pair were huge in Chatham's win. Norton had 19 assists and two aces, while Owen had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Owen a new career-high.

Chatham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Chatham's record is now 12-5. As for Dan River, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
