Baseball Game Preview: Fayette Falcons vs. New Franklin Bulldogs

Fayette is 1-8 against New Franklin since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Fayette will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on New Franklin at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fayette is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Higbee. Fayette walked away with a 9-5 win over Higbee on Friday.

Payton Oeth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Oeth was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Caleb Craig was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Thaddeus Quint was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, while New Franklin put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Christian Fellowship. New Franklin put the hurt on Christian Fellowship with a sharp 16-0 victory.

Fayette might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from New Franklin in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Fayette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
