Basketball Recap: Neiman Quach Key Part of a Team Effort in Argonauts Win

Garden Grove's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 72-60 win over the Westminster Lions. For the Argonauts, this counts as revenge for the 68-47 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garden Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neiman Quach, who posted 26 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Quach is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Juarez, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Westminster's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Le, who earned 23 points. Le's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keith Nguyen, who put up 17 points.

Garden Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Westminster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Garden Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-56 win against Lakeside on the 27th. As for Westminster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 81-43 loss against Pacifica on the 27th.
