Softball Recap: Robinson Triumphs

Robinson's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. That's more bragging rights for the Maroons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eva Herman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Robinson's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eva Brashear, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Robinson now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.

Robinson has already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Effingham on the 10th. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, they will take on Nokomis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's favor as the squad sits on 16 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Nokomis has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
