Football Recap: Alexis Miller and Leyla Lloyd Pace Anclote Defense

Anclote was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mitchell Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in February.

Anclote didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Alexis Miller and Leyla Lloyd.

Anclote's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mitchell, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Anclote has already played their next contest, an 18-0 win against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on the 12th. Mitchell will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Mitchell's defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so Fivay's offense will have their work cut out for them.
