Baseball Recap: Eldorado Comes Up Short

Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 27-4 to the Carterville Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 10-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Kaiden Henson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Phelps, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldorado will welcome Pope County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carterville, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Carmi-White County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
