Baseball Recap: Raceland Takes a Loss

The Raceland Rams didn't have quite enough to beat the Crescent Tigers on Monday and fell 9-8. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brigham Davidson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Gunnar Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Raceland's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Crescent, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raceland will challenge Coalfield at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coalfield's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Raceland's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Crescent, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Blazer at 11:00 a.m.
