Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Jerome

It was a proper cat-fight when Jerome challenged Burley on Saturday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Bobcats. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-4 victory on Thursday.

The result came thanks to Sawyer Tilley's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jerome is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 9-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jerome secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Julian Orozco, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Jerome, bringing their record up to 11-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Coming up, Jerome will take on Twin Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Burley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
