Volleyball Recap: South Elgin Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

South Elgin had won two straight home games and Paige Genke did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Storm walked away with a 2-0 win over the Aurora East Tomcats for which the team can thank Genke, who had ten aces and two blocks. Those blocks were her first of the season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: South Elgin took both sets by at least 20 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-5.

South Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Aurora East, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Elgin will welcome Glenbard North at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aurora East, they will square off against Metea Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
