Baseball Recap: Abington Friends Finds Home Field Redemption Against Academy of the New Church

There's no place like home for Abington Friends, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Academy of the New Church Lions on Friday. That's more bragging rights for Abington Friends, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jarius Ford was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Abington Friends: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Wyatt Hendricks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Abington Friends' record is now 6-4. As for Academy of the New Church, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Abington Friends will be playing in front of their home fans against Science Leadership Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Academy of the New Church, they will face off against Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
